| Hi there! Welcome to my journal, and thanks for stopping by. This will be the only post you'll see on my Public page, and it's a pretty boring post at that - sorry. If you'd like to read more about me and the goings-on in my life, please send me a message telling me a bit about who you are and how we know each other. I'll add you in to the other areas of the forum and you can see how everything else flows here.
Nice to see you. - Mood:cheerful

Which Discworld Character are you like (with pics) created with QuizFarm.com |
| You scored as Carrot Ironfounderson You are Captain Carrot Ironfounderson of the City Watch in the greatest city on the Disc – Ankh-Morprok! A truly good natured, honest guy, who knows everyone, and is liked by all. Technically a dwarf, but only by adoption. You’d rather not be reminded that you are the true heir to the throne, but that does explain why people naturally follow your orders…

| This Sunday is Veteran's Day. It is one of a handful of days a year set aside to honor members of our communities who have served in the Armed Forces, protecting our country or the interests of our country.
As individuals, we may not agree with or support our government's foreign and/or domestic policies. We may not agree with what our elected leadership is doing in places like Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and dozens of other locations around the world. You know what? We don't have to agree. We as citizens have the freedom to speak out against our government, the right to question their policies, and the responsibility to take legal actions against leaders who misuse or abuse their positions.
And do you know who is out there, right now, defending and enforcing those freedoms, rights, and responsibilities? Our service members. You know who it was who did so before them? The Veterans. Ordinary people who did and are still doing extraordinary things. You don't join the service for the paycheck, I assure you. Yes, there are incentives and benefits, but those pale in comparison to what you give up.
Remember those freedoms and rights I spoke of? Our service members willingly give up those rights when they swear their oaths. As my Drill Sgt once told me, "We are here to defend Democracy, not practice it." So this Sunday, when you wake up safe and warm in your bed, take a moment to think about the Soldier, Sailor, Marine, or Airman who is waking up in a sleeping bag half a world away from his or her family and friends. The mother or father who is watching their children grow up through photographs and letters - because mommy or daddy had to deploy again. Think of all the freedoms you have, and imagine not being able to exercise them because you gave your word that you would serve.
Support our troops, honor our veterans, take pride in our country.

| Oh my goodness me. Take a look as this! This was linked on another board, and I wanted to share. I think that everyone looks wonderful, and that this crew did an amazing job at promoting the Faire. How many people do you see that you know? Look for the smaller window showing the Queen, and click the "watch HD" button. I'll give you a pop-up to view a segment of the show. Pass it on! http://www.wealthtv.net/- Mood:happy

| A very simple meme: If there are one or more people on your friends list who make your world a better place just because they exist, and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal | |

| I found this to be very enjoyable, especially since he was my childhood/young adult hero. | You Are Spider-Man | Quick and agile, you have killer instincts (literally). And that kind of makes up for the whole creepy spider thing. |
